Aha! Drum roll please! Why thank you, thank you!
Yes, its Carnival time again and this time Taryn is hosting and she's asked us all to introduce ourselves, so settle down and we'll begin!
My name, as is pretty obvious from the title of this post as well as my blog, is Karen (but not "car-en", but carrot cake eating Karen! A very short "a"!). I tend to be called all manner of things until people really know me well - in Korea I was known as Karini - go figure?! I'm also known as Kay, and Karelina by dear friends...
I'm married to a pretty amazing husband, Braveheart, who loves me selflessly...
and have three precious kids:
Our family unit comprises of two wild brothers....
and a tomboy princess.....
King Arthur is 7....
Aragorn is 5....
and Belle is 3.
Originally from Zimbabwe, we now live in the deep south of Cape Town.
And now for my favourites!
The things I most like to
- see? That would be natural beauty in my surroundings.... a thunderstorm approach on Lake Kariba..... the different shades of blue in the sea around the peninsula...my children and Braveheart playing together...
- hear? My laughing children.... wind in pine trees.... thunder.... the sound of cyclists...
- smell? Scented roses, like the ones Braveheart used to pick for me when dating... lilies given to me on special occasions...the aroma of coffee (although I cannot abide the taste of coffee)... fresh bread...the first rains on the highveld...
- taste? any healthy vegetarian food made for me or fresh fruit salads (food always tastes better to me if someone else has made it!)... ripe mangoes... yellow cling peaches... fresh fish....strawberries
- touch? - my husband???!!!
- truly slay my dragon...
- become an art loving, creative family...
- continue to boldly step into all that I was meant to be...
- fall deeply into His grace....

LOVELY to know you dear K..a..r..e..n ;-)
Thanks for sharing Karen - it's been fun learning more about you! I hope that you do manage to slay your dragon this year. :)
Thank you for sharing yourself with us. Lovely to get to know you better.
