The American tradition of Thanksgiving really warms my heart, and after celebrating it with friends last year, it's something I'd really like to incorporate into our South African Calendar (let's import this rather than Halloween!).

So this year, due to our hectic end of year busyness, we celebrated it a week later than the Americans (and I'm only posting about it now :)!), had a braai instead of turkey, and the craft I wanted to do was even a few days after that meal!

Still, this is what we did...

We cut out brown paper hearts...

and on each heart we each wrote some things we have been thankful for this year....

and then we stung them along a piece of twine. I like the idea of adding to this each day, but ahem, in practice, that hasn't happened yet!

We've enjoyed making more gifts...we're upcycling tin cans to be used as pencil holders,

and baking copious amounts of cookies!

the kids love cutting out these miniature
snowflakes

Hope you're enjoying your holidays!
