This last weekend saw us celebrating King Arthur's 7th birthday. Lego is the craze at the moment, and specifically the Atlantis series. So...
The Preparations...
Using an old fridge box (you can get these from appliance stores if you don't have friends who have recently bought a fridge!), we cut it open and painted some ruins....and used another large TV box as a table...
And the day dawned....
the completed underwater city...
the treasure chest cake with seabed scavenger!
individual treasure!
we used sparkle sweets for the jewels, gold coins, golden wrapped toffees and jelly tots...
i love the lego towers my boys made for their biscuit sweets...
We devised a number of games involving the main players from Atlantis (Braveheart was both the Giant Squid and the Giant Shark!), and the winner of each game was rewarded with one of the five keys. King Arthur received the Giant Turtle key for simply being the birthday boy!
isn't this trident lovely? Hand crafted by one of the dads! This is the game of musical statues...
and this is the portal into the city of Atlantis. All keys were placed onto this garage door and then...
we heaved and pulled and walked in to discover the treasure!
Happy Birthday special boy!
What a fun and exciting party...Mr T has been making atlantis keys all of sunday, they are stuck all over his bedroom wall ;-) Aswell as making a quite impressive one out of lego!
Well done on all yr craetivity and Thank you for having us!
